Will we see space tourism and human spaceflight this year? Yes!

Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, recently launched a SpaceX Starship prototype again...and it blew up. Will we get this right this soon? Philip Michael is joined by the Executive Director of The Foundation For The Future, Tim Chrisman , to let you know this could be happening sooner than you think!

According to Tim Chrisman, we will see space tourism and human spaceflight this year! This is due to the SpaceX Inspiration4 mission scheduled for later this year, and the Virgin Galactic and Virgin Orbit Launch scheduled for later this year, as well. It might start out with the very wealthy, but for the first time this won’t be Navy SEAL trained professionals only who are going into space.

But what about the SpaceX Starship launches that keep blowing up? According to Tim Chrisman, this is good as it gives you more data on what to change, vs launches that go relatively well. Those flying later this year on the Inspiration4, for instance, will be flying on ships that have flown reliably for about 10 years. This is the SpaceX Falcon series, which delivered astronauts to the International Space Station, or ISS, just earlier this year.

And with the railroad building to the sky that Elon Musk is doing, we’re going to see more and more space travel and space tourism from the private sector.

Why isn’t the government or VC interested in space tourism? The Government has NASA. Venture Capital, or VC, isn’t stepping in because it’s too long to wait for a profit. Venture Capital wants profit in 3-5 years and this kind of work needs 10+ years.

Will we be on Mars in 2026? It's an aggressive goal, but we possibly could do it.
