American politics and young people. Do people under 40 have a voice in Washington? Well not really. Forget ‘hey boomer,’ our whole political class is way older. President Biden is 79 years old, President Trump is 75, and Nancy Pelosi is 81. That implies that topics like the environment, cryptocurrency taxation, and equality are controlled by people who should be retired by now.
Consider the US Senate: it resembles an old folks home, and its decisions have a significant impact on our lives. As a result of the crypto crackdown, many of our assets will become worthless. As the national debt grows, so do our future taxes. As we continue to neglect our climate problem, the likelihood of calamities increases, as does the cost of cleanup. And none of this concerns the current American political class, because they will be long gone by the time all of these issues arise.
Even if they go to heaven, down here their decisions are going to give us hell for decades to come. Millennials and Gen Z need their voices heard and politics at every level that means local, state, or federal.
