Inflation is already at a 40 year high and is expected to get worse because people's expectations affect the real economy.
So if people think there will be more inflation, guess what? There will be. The economy is built on our collective psychology and if we think it, it becomes true and inflation is already crushing businesses and consumers like us.
It's not just at the gas pump. The richest man in the world, Elon Musk says that inflation is hurting his businesses. Elon Musk says he's holding onto crypto and claims that owning real assets like a house is a good way of navigating inflation.
Right now, we're in a perfect storm of inflation. Pandemic relief plus supply chain issues plus the invasion of Ukraine equals crazy inflation. Now that there's crazy inflation, people expect even more and that leads to even more inflation and more pain at the gas pump, grocery store, and everywhere in between.
