- Saffron and Curcumin (Turmeric) for ADHD?:
Interest in spices and other supplements to treat ADHD and other mental health conditions has been increasing. The bright yellow spices saffron and turmeric have both been used for centuries in food, cosmetics and folk medicine. Recent research indicates that both of these spices contain chemicals that reduce inflammation, reduce oxidative stress and modulate neurotransmitters. Four studies of saffron in humans indicate it can help reduce symptoms of ADHD. As of now there are no human studies of curcumin/turmeric for treating ADHD, but some animal research suggests it may help.
- Weighted Blankets and ADHD:
Some people find weighted blankets comforting and soothing, and they are frequently recommended for those with ADHD. A small amount of research suggests that they can reduce anxiety, boost mood, and may help those with ADHD function better in the daytime.
