It's no secret that the church has problems. People inside and outside of the church are quite fond of pointing that out. The question for those in the church is, "what are you going to do to help?" It's tempting to spend our days criticizing the church, pointing out all its flaws, and calling it a day. Sometimes we even feel our rampant deconstructionism is a service to the church. In this video, I want to challenge you with the idea that deconstruction is only helpful when it is seen as a means to the end of reconstruction. We can point out the flaws of the church, but if it's not followed by offering solutions, then we're actually choosing to be part of the problem, rather than part of the solution. Far from being a video calling you to leave your church and start something new and "better," I want to challenge you to live into the mess of your church, get your hands dirty, and work to see the church be all that it can be. It's the harder route, but it's the worthwhile route.

About me:

Hey! My name is Austin, and I'm a 21 year old guy with a passion for people. I believe the good news is that God is better than we could've ever hoped, and I love sharing this message of grace and love with anyone that will listen. I'm the former Digital Marketing and Video Production Coordinator at a large, evangelical church in Frederick, MD, and I'm currently a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. When I'm not writing papers or making YouTube videos, I do freelance work as a Wedding Photographer/Videographer and social media consultant. On any given day you can find me with my nose in a book or a guitar in my hands. Want to get to know me more? Follow me and say hi on Instagram at: @austin.suggs
