27:24Now PlayingThe Senate approved a bill Thursday, May 19, that would prevent companies selling non-flushable disposable products from advertising them as safe for sewers or flushable. The measure, sponsored by Senator Vicki Jensen, DFL-Owatonna, helps address problems faced by local governments with sewer backups and sewage equipment failures.
The measure requires that the nonwoven disposable products meet the Association of Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA) code of practice for correctly labeling the products.
