41:55Now PlayingOn a 55 to 12 vote, the Senate gave its final approval to a bill providing $257 million dollars in tax relief through 2017.
Sponsored by Senator Rod Skoe, DFL-Clearbrook, the measure expands the working family credits and creates a student loan credit. It increases tax deductions and credits for 529 college savings plans and increases the dependent care credit.
The bill also lowers the statewide business property tax, increases aids to local governments and creates a property tax credit for agricultural land owners.
The bill, which was passed earlier by the House, was sent to the Governor for his signature.
