The Karnataka government on Friday announced approval for a scheme that allows a 50 per cent discount on pending traffic fine payments in the city of Bengaluru. This would apply only if the payments are made before February 11, 2023. Is it Karnataka's sweetener to recover fines? "this is mind-boggling. There should be no discount on road safety rather it should be the most premium. I don't know what logic is behind this" said Hormazd Sorabjee.
