The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells dairy products under the brand name 'Amul,' raised milk prices by RS 3 per litre in all markets except Gujarat on Friday. According to Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of the Anand-based federation, the milk price increase does not apply to Gujarat. According to the statement, one litre pouch of Amul Taaza milk will now cost Rs 54, while one litre of Amul Gold will cost Rs 66, and one litre pouch of cow milk will now cost Rs 56, while Amul A2 buffalo milk pouch will cost Rs 70 from Friday. The guest for this episode Jay Mehta (MD, Amul) said, "This is a nominal increase - an average of about 5%-6% y-o-y & we had to pass it on because the producers had to be compensated".
