On today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis began the show by posing a question: “If Kevin Durant punches Patrick Beverly tomorrow, how long do you think he would be out of the NBA?” I think he would be out for the remainder of the post-season, and maybe for the beginning of next season, said Travis. It would be a huge story. So why does the NHL allow Alex Ovechkin to knock another player out and hit his head on the ice? Why does it continue to exist? According to Travis, it might be race-related and a weakness of the overall brand of the NHL.

Clay Travis continued by mentioning the tanking of the NBA playoff ratings. ESPN, under its new CEO, has suddenly shifted gears and are now approaching the NFL more positively. The live NBA playoffs were dominated by a replay of The Masters over the weekend, and are now getting a preview of the ratings collapse with the demise of LeBron James, since he has become more polarizing and less interesting, said Travis. The NBA is a player, not a league, said Travis, and unless Zion Williamson steps in to save the league, the ratings will continue to plummet. The average Duke basketball game last season out-rated the NBA. That, according to Travis, is wild.

Clay Travis then announced that the Bob Kraft massage parlor video might be released to the public. This, according to Travis, is a disgrace and shows the desperation by the prosecution. Publicly humiliating Robert Kraft, in an effort to make him “blink,” is the wrong move. This, said Travis, is an attempt by the State of Florida to embarrass a public figure like Kraft, and justify the amount of resources spent on investigating the case. “This is an absolute travesty of justice and is thoroughly indefensible.” Robert Kraft, said Travis, will win the case.

Clay Travis then went on to discuss the mess on the bayou at LSU and their athletic program. Reports of the AD stepping down are increasing, and it might be directly attributed to Alabama’s dominance over LSU in football. Joe Alleva, the current athletic director at LSU, is likely going to be removed, but won’t result in any significant changes in LSU football’s success. This is a classic example of confusing cause and effect, said Travis.

Clay Travis also addressed the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy of the AAF. It now looks like an absolute clown show, said Travis, and is utterly indefensible that their business was run as poorly as it was.

Clay Travis mentioned the “absolute collapse” of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL playoffs. They are clearly inferior and their postseason performance is one of the worst results in the history of professional sports.

Finally, Clay Travis pointed to the surge of Bernie Sanders and is “terrifying” the Democrats. The likelihood of any candidate having a majority of delegates in time for the DNC looks bleak. Sanders is raising the most money, Mayor Pete is charging, and Biden is likely going to announce his candidacy anytime. This will probably result in a three party election in 2020, with the left-wing of the party being divided by Sanders resulting in the re-election of President Donald Trump. The democrats are whistling toward oblivion, said Travis.
