30:30Now PlayingOn today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis discussed the third episode of the final episode of Game of Thrones that aired last night. One of the problems with the episode, said Travis, was its narrative flaws. The years of excellent character development have been overshadowed by mindless action scenes that are doing a disservice to the series. The story, said Travis, is suffering, and has become the equivalent of another installment of the Transformers franchise.
Clay Travis then addressed the 11-minute Tyreek Hill audio bombshell. The Kansas City Chief is now likely facing child abuse charges after it has come out that his three year old son had his arm broken by Hill. It will possibly result in his football career ending.
Clay Travis then discussed the NFL Draft in Nashville last week, with more than 600K showing up for the event. Clay’s bar, the Downtown Sporting Club at 411 Broadway, had an incredibly successful opening as well.
Daniel Jones, said Travis, is one of the most scrutinized picks in the draft, and really shouldn’t be. All of the quarterbacks in the draft this year have flaws, and successfully predicting which player will result in success in the NFL is incredibly difficult. The New York Giants think he has a lot of upside, said Travis, and for good reason. The criticism surrounding Jones is unwarranted. The race card, Clay added, is lazy and stupid.
Clay Travis also mentioned the Tennessee Titans first round pick, Jeffrey Simmons, who has a dark legal past and is also injured and will likely miss the upcoming season.
Additionally, Clay Travis talked about first-round quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins and doubted whether or not either quarterback will be successful in the NFL. Ultimately it will come down to these QBs being able to move the sticks on third and eight. Time will tell.
Clay Travis also mentioned how he was ridiculously called “racist” for congratulating Nick Bosa on his first round selection by the San Francisco 49ers. Bosa, said Travis, has been widely criticized for publicly praising the President of the United States and the “woke” media have lost their mind.
Clay Travis brought up Dabo Sweeney and his new $93 million contract to continue coaching football at Clemson. Worth every penny, said Travis.
Finally, Clay Travis closed his show by touching on the latest news regarding LSU head basketball coach Will Wade, who is on tape offering $300,000 toward the recruiting efforts of Naz Reid. This will likely result in his removal from the basketball program.
