25:10Now PlayingOn today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis began by discussing the fiasco at the Kentucky Derby over the weekend, with Maximum Security being stripped of the title due to a “lane violation.” He also mentioned how the sport of hire racing wouldn’t exist without legalized gambling. Now that sports gambling is becoming more prevalent in America, how will it affect the sport? Will the rising tide lift all boats? Time will tell, said Travis.
Clay Travis then talked about Game of Thrones and how this season is falling short. For instance: why is Bran not participating in reconnaissance for the army? Why didn’t Dany see the ships from afar? Why didn’t Cersei not attack the (small) army when she could the opportunity? Why don’t the dragons have armor? Several plot holes were mentioned by Travis, with the Starbucks cup visible in front of Dany as a metaphor for season 8 and all its poor storytelling.
Also, Clay Travis addressed the Warriors-Rockets NBA game tonight, predicting the Warriors will dominate the game. Clay believes Steph Curry will have an excellent game, and has placed money on his performance.
Clay Travis brought up the latest XFL news, with a spectacular television distribution strategy. The games, said Travis, will be on Fox, ESPN, and ABC each Saturday this Spring, with the playoffs ultimately airing on ESPN and Fox.
Clay predicts the league will be a huge success financially and with regard to ratings. If the league can be 7-8% as successful as the NFL, the league will do well.
Finally, Clay Travis spent a few days and went to see his first English Premiere League game Southampton and South Ham. If the EPL could add a team to NYC, said Travis, they could really broaden their international fanbase.
