Michael Crick says that the British public are being overlooked in this debate and that the newspapers have to be constantly aware of the British public as they are their readers and they decide who governs us.
He goes on to talk about the influence of The Sun newspaper in past elections. Says that he spent a year writing a book on Rupert Murdoch until he bought his publisher.
Following from this he says that the people of the modern world get their news from a myriad of different sources so 'The Media' as an entity cannot be said to 'control' Politician's.
He concludes that the media plays a healthy role in the democratic process of this country and should be supported while the motion of politicians being in the pocket of the media should be opposed.
