CHRIS MULLIN - Former Parliamentary Under-Sec of State & Under-Sec at the Foreign Office
Chris Mullin MP begins by saying that the coalition want to destroy the public sector and are using the current state of the economy as an excuse for doing so.
He goes on to suggest that the current government's economic program is founded on a lie formulated over a number of years with the assistance of a compliant media. The lie is that the origins of the economic crisis were uniquely British.
He mentions that no one should be surprised that George Osborne has screwed up the economy because he has a track record of misjudgement.
He concludes by saying that we do not want to go down the road of socio economic breakdown like we did in some of the poorest parts of the country under the Labour Government.
