Javier Milei won the election, now how will he govern? And how did we get here in the first place?

We sat down with Nicolás Guthmann of Argentina to talk about why young men voted in large numbers in support of Milei. Only a few years ago, Milei was a television talking head who ranted about government spending to spread the gospel of anarcho-capitalism. He is a popular outspoken public figure who was underestimated by political analysts, sound familiar?

Now, Milei is certainly not exactly Trump 2.0, though he holds similar views: “draining the swamp” and rocking the political establishment, making his country “great again,” stopping “woke” and “socialism,” and cutting spending on public programs. But Milei may even take his policies a step further. He’s made promises to kill the central bank of Argentina and “dollarize” the economy.

"Everything [that] can be [put] into the hands of the private sector, will be in the hands of the private sector," said Milei. Luckily, the Argentine Congress just might reign him in. For their sake, let’s hope so.
