Can you imagine a dating app that is also a game? That’s right, a social dating game. Make sure to watch to find out more.

Welcome back to Bold TV with Holland Haiis. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe to Bold TV for entrepreneur news, and all things Bold.

Joining Holland Haiis today is Robert Porter, the Cofounder & CEO at Karma the Game of Destiny. This social dating app uses AR and VR technology to make it more fun to date and to be able to interact with people in an immersive experience.

Many people are using apps like Tinder and Hinge where they want to delete it ASAP. Porter wanted to create something that kept people interacting and staying on the platform longer. By gamifying things like bars, casions, shows and so on, the creators wanted to make all these immersive experiences fun.

Do you meet real people in this game?

First, you start with an avatar. Over time you can decide if you want to share your lockbox, which holds real photos of you. You can choose to share it or you can choose to ‘zap’ them which will make the algorithm ensure that you never see that person again based on their IP and email address. The game was created to make sure people felt secure with priority on privacy so that users can focus on the experience.

How many of the players are getting to the stage of ‘opening their lockboxes?’

30 to 40% of current players are actually sharing their real photos. Porter says the game is like Tinder (trying to date people) meets Pokemon Go (AR/VR aspect) meets LivingSocial (going out or staying in).

By Pokemon Go, do you mean users can go and meet someone at a local diner?

Yes, you can decide what your comfort level is and if both people agree on it you can do it. The point of this software is that people can police themselves and make their own decisions based on their own comfort levels. Every person gets to choose who they want in this virtual experience.
