It's down, just like the rest of the crypto market, at the time of this recording. Despite its origins as a joke, there is still hope for everyone's favorite meme coin. Dogecoin has a lot more to offer than other altcoins.
It is almost as old as Bitcoin and uses the same proof of work technology as Litecoin.
When the cryptocurrency bubble burst in 2018, Dogecoin lost nearly all of its value, but users on Twitter and Reddit used it to tip each other for social media content, keeping it alive.
Dogecoin's survival was aided by the fact that it was a bit of a joke.
In today's world, Dogecoin has its own Blockchain.
It is more valuable than the yen of Japan, the rupee of India, and the peso of Mexico.
This summer, there will be a much-anticipated update. One of Doge's primary developers, Patrick Lodder, recently commented on Reddit that the next upgrade will include a slew of new features, including increased security for Dogecoin users' wallets and the patching of various flaws discovered in the Bitcoin network.
