The Islamic Republic of Iran is responsible for thousands of dog deaths.
Religious clerics who control Iran hold the view that dogs should not be kept as pets. Furthermore, it is illegal to walk your dog in public.
However, Iranians love dogs, just like everyone else, and they donate time and money to care for them and support rescue shelters.
But recently, armed with weapons designed for warfare, agents of the ruthless Iranian regime entered a dog shelter and massacred more than 1,700 dogs.
We are aware that Iran's government often violates human rights, but we never hear about how appalling their treatment of animals is.
Iran, a nation that regularly kills dogs, is the subject of a new nuclear agreement that the United States is currently considering.
We shouldn't be giving the Islamic Republic of Iran's administration more power.
We owe it to both the Iranian people who desire liberation from tyranny and these helpless animals.
