And while Musk's approval rating is up among conservatives, there's one big problem: liberals are more likely to buy electric vehicles than their political opposites. Today, Tesla is no longer electric vehicle buyers' top choice. They're now behind Toyota and BMW. Now, Tesla's technology is pretty amazing.
The car basically drives itself- Well, there's actually an investigation and lawsuit going on about that, But all that aside, many Tesla owners are happy with their cars. But as we transition to a mostly electric-vehicle world, injecting politics into his personal brand and buying Twitter may come at a steep cost for Elon. Far beyond the $44 billion he's already shelled out to be the most famous Twitter troll in the world.
