And there are bills pending in the Senate and in Congress to ban the app in America. By the way, TikTok is already banned in India. Why? Well, TikTok is a Chinese company, and there are worries that the company is sending our data straight to the government.
In China, there's almost no difference between the government and the private sector. So, the Chinese government pretty much dictates every business decision. But there's another issue that won't go away with banning Tiktok.
Nearly 30,000 apps use TikTok's software development kits that send data directly to TikTok. So, even if you get rid of TikTok, the company will continue having access to your data through other apps. And a lot of people don't want TikTok banned, especially those famous TikTokers.
So there are other solutions being floated, such as an American partner company, like Oracle, to house all of the American data. We'll see how this all progresses, but get ready for some big changes around TikTok either way.
