Health is the well-being of body, mind and spirit.
Statistics
-About 80% of people claim to be emotionally stressed.
-The #1 selling drugs on the market today are antidepressant medications, which contain harmful side effects.
-A study from the Blue Zones Project showed that the #1 longest living group of people in America are 7th Day Adventists. They claim their longevity comes from, in part, having a strong faith base and a strong community of people.
-Being part of a community and church is very important for health.
How Faith Promotes Health
1. Faith relieves anxiety.
-Matthew 6:25-34
-“For this reason I say to you, ‘Do not be anxious about your life, what you eat, what you will drink, or for what you will put in your body …' ”

2. Faith gives us a better outlook on life.
-We have a community of people around us.
-God supports and leads us.
-We are stewards, working for God’s glory.
3. Practicing a Sabbath (day of rest) benefits health.
-God made the 7th day holy, as a day of rest.
-Sabbath: to be refreshed
-Action Steps:
1. Take one day (Saturday or Sunday) to rest and not work.
2. Write down things that refresh you and bring you joy and incorporate those into your day.
