14:10Now PlayingOn tonight’s special Game of Thrones edition of Outkick the Show, Clay Travis offered his reaction to the fifth episode of season eight.
Clay Travis commented on the penultimate episode which featured the long-awaited Last War, with troops and fleets surrounding King’s Landing to determine who will ultimately sit upon the Iron Throne.
Clay Travis gave the episode high praise, resulting in what he said is the best episode of season eight.
The Cleganebowl, the showdown between Jamie Lannister and Euron Greyjoy, the demise of Lord Varys, The Master of Whisperers, and the fate of Cersei Lannister were all subplots featured in the episode.
Clay Travis added that the key line to the episode was spoken by the Mother of Dragons to Jon Snow before the battle began. Dany told her nephew that she wasn’t loved in Westeros, and all she had left was fear. The episode, said Travis, featured The Dragon Queen’s transition in the Mad Queen, following in her father’s footsteps when he succumbed to his paranoia and became the Mad King in the beloved series of books written by George R. R. Martin.
