as posted by the channelKashmir Issue is a territorial conflict between India and Pakistan. After the Independence Act 1947, the Princely states of British India give the choice to remain independent or to choose any dominion between India and Pakistan. The majority population of Kashmir is Muslim. At the time of partition, the ruler of Kashmir was Hari Sing who was a Non-Muslim. Hari Sing signed the “Instrument of Accession” with India against the wished of the People of Jammu and Kashmir. That’s why the people of Kashmir rebelled with the help of Pathans. Pakistan and India have fought almost three wars on this issue. United Nations also intervein when India brought this matter to the Security Council of the United Nations. UNO then passed a resolution 47 calling for the referendum in the Jammu and Kashmir. UN mediator Dixon also gave his plan known as Dixon Plan. Commonwealth also intervene but all in vain due to the hard attitude of India, who according to critics is not sincere to the held referendum because the likely outcome of any referendum will be against India’s interests. In 1971 Pakistan was disintegrated, India held almost 90,000 POW. Both the countries signed the Simla Agreement on which they agreed to resolve Kashmir Issue bilaterally. Cease Fireline also became the de facto line of control. India saw Kashmir as its integral part. India also held the view that according to the Simla Agreement UNO cannot interfere in Kashmir Issue. Pakistan held the view that the Kashmiri people have a right of self-determination. There should be a plebiscite according to the UNO resolution and people of Kashmir will decide their own future. There are severe Human Rights Violations on the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Almost 90,000 Kashmiri Muslims have been killed since 1988 and more than 4,000 women have been raped. Mostly Human Rights Organization condemn India. In Pakistan Occupied Kashmir the militant groups are often blamed. Nehru made many promises several times to ensure plebiscite in Kashmir but after his death, no attempt was made to the held plebiscite in Kashmir.
