Artificial Intelligence, or A.I., is everywhere, but do you really understand what it is? Our guest May Habib Co-Founder & CEO of Writer.com, is here to help you understand just what artificial intelligence is and where the artificial intelligence field is going.
To keep it very simple, Habib says to think of the first generation of computer intelligence as needing to know a bunch of rules. For instance you could say, “Computer, I want you to do x and here is exactly how to do it.” Artificial Intelligence is instead of needing to program all of these rules so the computer can do all of your work, you actually teach it by giving it a ton of data.
What about AI vs human intelligence? While Artificial Intelligence is very beneficial in almost every industry, Habib says that it might not be a good idea when face-to-face human interaction is absolutely needed.
How does writer.com use AI? Writer uses AI in copywriting, which mean AI is used as a tool that corrects your writing, and uses AI to make that happen. Habib says a big part of what they do beyond stylistic and grammatical improvements is making sure people are writing in ways that are sensitive and promote healthy cultures. And doing those things would not be possible without AI.
