Justice is blind, except when the defendant is a white guy with a gun. Then, justice has to peek through their blinds to make double extra sure that everyone is being as nice as possible to the assailant.
This past week, the trial began for the alleged murderer of two Black Lives Matter protesters, Kyle Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse killed two protestors in Kenosha, Wisconsin, a town that he isn’t even from, and had to drive to in order to “defend” it from the people who actually live there. Rittenhouse is accused of two counts of homicide, one reckless and one intentional, and two counts of recklessly endangering safety.
At the trial, however, the judge seemed very concerned with how language might unfairly disadvantage Rittenhouse. For some reason the judge banned the use of the word “victims” in the courtroom, which would sensibly have been used for the two people who were killed by Mr. Rittenhouse. Instead, everyone at the trial is going to have to bend over backwards in order to preserve the feelings of this fascist larper. Also, WTH can we put the judge on trial next?
