This past week, the trial of the three men who murdered Ahmaud Arbery began in Georgia. If you don’t recall, Arbery was on a run in rural Georgia when three white men began tailing him, allegedly claiming that he was preparing to rob a house when he was just jogging. They surrounded him with their trucks and one shot him dead. Gregory McMichael, 67; his 35-year-old son, Travis McMichael; and their neighbor, William Bryan, 52, are all accused of his murder.
Arbery’s death was captured on video, which then went viral and is being used in the case against the three accused. Beyond murder, these three also stand accused of federal hate crimes charges.
