That’s the hot topic in today’s Millennial Minute, and Bold TV host David Grasso is joined by Republican nominee for Congress Joe Collins and Democratic Strategist Max Burns to dissect and discuss just what our next steps should be.
Collins says that moving on with normal life is the better idea, and that evidence is proving that any sort of shutdown, social distancing, and mask wearing is just not working. There isn’t enough evidence between restaurants that have had to shut down and restaurants that haven’t. And in the end, there is a lack of transparency from the government.
On one hand, Burns agrees about the lack of transparency from the government. That said, he states how the CDC said that studies showed how when a restaurant's capacity increases, the number of cases in that area increases. Data has shown that the coronavirus becomes a problem when you open restaurants at full or half capacity.
Both agree that a small business stimulus package is necessary to help save restaurants across the country.
In the end, Collins would love to go out to dinner if he could in California. Burns (who is able to take advantage of outdoor dining) says that the best thing we can do right now to help restaurants is by ordering takeout, and contactless delivery.
