Happy President’s Day! Today we’re looking at Biden’s relationship with the media and asking, do they give him a free pass? And for this debate we are joined by Erin Elmore, contributor to Turning Point USA, and Democratic strategist Nicole Brener Schmitz.
Elmore starts off by saying the treatment is totally disparate, but that this is just par for the course with Democrats and the media, as they usually walk hand in hand. She remarks that the media’s questions towards him are more likely to be what’s his favorite color or his favorite flavor of ice cream? She goes on to state that we had beautiful women in the white house like Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump and they were never remarked as looking nice, but now the women in pantsuits are being treated as if they walked off the pages of Vogue.
Schmitz responds and says that at least the Democrats are now holding press briefings as the Trump administration would go weeks and weeks without holding one, and now the press is excited to ask questions again. She then states that the woman of the Biden administration probably would agree with Elmore and want to talk to the press about what they’re working on vs what shoes they are wearing.
Elmore and Schmitz then go on to go back and forth over the work of White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. Is she being unprofessional or just accurate?
Do you think there’s a double standard in the media and the Biden administration? Let us know in the comments below!
