6:29Now PlayingIt’s time for another Millennial Minute with David Grasso. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Gym owners are suffering after being closed for so many months. But, is it time to go back? Is it safe to go to the gym in 2021?
That’s the topic of today’s debate over at Millennial Minute, and host David Grasso is joined by Emilie Dye, Director of Policy at the Australian Taxpayers Alliance, and Democratic Strategist Max Burns who have very different opinions on how we should move forward.
Dye says we should go back to the gym. The pandemic is an issue to our health, but there are other issues to our health impacting us, and to deny our access to the gym to prevent those health issues (obesity for instance) doesn’t make sense.
While Burns agrees that there are other issues affecting our health, the current pandemic is our most imminent issue, and we need to solve this very serious issue at hand before we move into longer term solutions. Working out at home is our best option right now.
And while both have differences of opinions on what strategy to take for when gyms reopen, both agree that if the government requires these businesses to shut down, the government should also provide financial assistance to keep these gyms afloat until they can reopen.
