Fully Automated Drive Thru Lanes at McDonald's
McDonald's just announced the development of fully automated drive thru lanes. McDonald's is partnering with IBM to develop an automated ordering system that uses artificial intelligence-enabled voice recognition coming to a city near you. This AI news is announced amid one of the worst labor shortages in decades. It’s not too surprising that Mcdonald's is attempting to automate its drive thru services. More and more AIs will likely take over the need for menial jobs.
Lower Paid Workers Are Seeing The Largest Wage Jump
Lower-paid workers are currently seeing the biggest gains in their pay. Wages surged in the past three months, breaking all records and exceeding any statistic we’ve seen in the past 20 years. Unfortunately, it’s not all good news. Inflation and/or rising prices are eating most of those gains in wages.
Los Angeles Rolling Out Guaranteed Basic Income Program
Los Angeles is rolling out a guaranteed basic income program, which gives residents who live in poverty $1,000 a month with no strings attached. There are 3000 participants in the pilot program. The City of Angels is dealing with record levels of homelessness, crime, and illegal trash dumping.
